About

We are Anita and Nathan and we are the hosts of the Homeschool Project Podcast. We are parents to three children (3,6,9) who are all homeschooled as well as a military family. We started our podcast and this website to help others find a community where they can find information, have their questions answered, and be part of a group that is willing to go above and beyond to make sure that we all succeed. We hope you find what you are looking for and please send us an email with any questions that you might have.

Our story begins in North Florida where we met while attending university. After spending four years together and earning our degrees it was time to find real jobs. I became a Registered Nurse while Nathan took a job in New Mexico to work for the Department of Game and Fish. Shortly thereafter we were married and I left Florida and headed out to New Mexico to see our new home. What I didn’t know was that our new home would be in the middle of a national forest. We were over an hour to any type of store or convenience and my life was turned upside down.

The time we spent in the forest with only each other for support were some of the most memorable times of our lives. We spent hours hiking and enjoying nature. Friday nights consisted of dominoes and espresso as we overlooked the mountains that were our backyard. There was no cable or Netflix. All we had was an old DVD player, so weekend runs to Walmart to dig through the $5 movie bin was a big day out. Life was simple and it was good. This was where we learned to cherish the outdoors and found that in nature was where we felt the happiest.

Three years later Nathan joined the military and we were on the move again. We have lived in several states but currently we reside in Ohio. It is here that we raise our three children and for the last two years have transitioned to homeschooling.

Since our decision our family has grown closer and happier. This lifestyle has made us realize that homeschooling is not only about education but it is a lifestyle. It is a lifestyle that allows you to take a step back and see what is really important.

It is our hope that you can do the same. If you are just beginning your journey then welcome. If you are a veteran, we hope you enjoy what we have to offer and we want everyone to know that you are welcome in this community.
