Iced Americano

Anyone else remember what it was like to sit there absolutely bored and watching the clock barely move?

Yeah, me neither.
Now I look up, it’s noon, I haven’t showered, haven’t brushed my teeth, found my coffee I lost the day before sitting on the bookshelf in the classroom, just finished the days lessons with the kids and am staring at a gigantic pile of laundry…

It’s time for a good cup of coffee. But since I can’t ever seem to find time to drink it hot, here is my husbands recipe for an iced coffee he found me:

  1. Have kids
  2. Make coffee
  3. Forget coffee
  4. enjoy iced coffee

Pretty much! 😂 And after numerous trips to Starbucks to have an iced americano, which has become my new favorite due to the quickly rising temperatures here in Mississippi, I decided to try my own out.

I admit I don’t have a detailed recipe for this one, but I will share what I did to create it. And there is room to customize it how you like! Also note, that you can do the same by brewing a pot of coffee and chilling it, and skipping the water addition to make an iced coffee!

Iced Americano

  1. Brew espresso in an espresso maker.
  2. As soon as it is done, pour over a cup of ice to chill.
  3. In a separate cup add whatever sweetener, creamer, white chocolate syrup, chocolate syrup, etc you like (but take note, do less sweet on this than you would an actual cup of coffee to start) ****I do roughly a Tablespoon of white chocolate syrup and nothing else to create a “white mocha americano”. But that’s me!****
  4. Fill the cup halfway with cold water and mix.
  5. Top with ice
  6. Now add in your chilled espresso
  7. Mix and enjoy!

Now back to my long to do list ❤️ A mother’s work is never finished! 🤪
